Today, I wanted to share a recipe for the most delicious candied pecans. These nuts are perfect for adding to salads, but most of the time we end up eating them before they make it to dinner! I love that this recipe is super easy, has only 4 ingredients and takes less than 10 minutes to put together. You seriously must try these!
Sweet & Spicy Maple Pecans
(4 servings)
Ingredients:
– 1 cup Pecans
– 1/4 cup Maple Syrup
– 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
– Pinch of Cayenne Pepper
Directions:
1. Preheat a small non-stick frying pan on medium heat. Add pecans and let them warm in the pan for 4-5 minutes. This will release some of the pecans natural oils, so no extra oil is needed.
2. Pour the maple syrup over the pecans. The maple syrup should immediately bubble up and begin to thicken. Use a spatula to move the pecans around in the pan and make sure they are all evenly coated.
3. Continue cooking until the syrup reaches the hard crack stage. This will take about 3 minutes, but you can tell it’s done when there is a slight burnt smell and the syrup that sticks to the spatula hardens when it’s removed from the heat.
4. Pour the pecans onto a piece of parchment paper in a single layer. Immediately sprinkle with salt & cayenne.
