Hello everyone! Today I wanted to share my basic everyday makeup routine and a few of my favourite products for creating a “no-makeup” makeup look. This is the perfect look for when you don’t want a full face of makeup but just want to enhance your natural beauty. The best part about this makeup look is it literally only takes me 3 minutes!
All of these products are ones I personally use on a daily basis, and I love how they are all very forgiving to apply. Most of these products are moisturizing and are actually good for your skin, plus all these products are super easy to take off at the end of the day… no scrubbing or harsh makeup removers needed!
Step 1: Tinted moisturizer!
My current fave: Smashbox Sheer Focus.
It breaks my heart that this tinted moisturizer has been discontinued because I love it’s lightweight moisturizing feel. I still have a 1/4 of the bottle left until I’m stuck finding a replacement but I don’t know if anything will live up to this product… seriously, if you can find this product, snatch it up while you can! To apply, I like using my Sigma round kabuki brush to make sure it is well blended.
Step 2: Powder!
My current fave: Faces Loose Powder
I have been using this brand of powder for some time and I love its lightweight texture for everyday wear. I tap a little bit of it on a fluffy face brush and sweep it across my t-zone to keep things matte. It is not particularly long lasting but it works well enough that I don’t mind touching it up during the day with a mini compact I keep in my purse.
Step 3: Blush!
My current fave: Benefit Sugarbomb
This blush is such a great natural peachy colour and I love how it has a pretty sheen to highlight your cheekbones without making them unnaturally sparkly. The blush comes with a small brush, but it is a bit of an awkward oblong shape, so I always use my Sigma F10 blush brush to apply.
Step 4: Eye Shadow!
My current fave: Naked Palette
Now there has been so much said about this palette but it truly is one of the most versatile items in my makeup bag! For an everyday makeup look I use the colour “naked” across my entire eyelid, then shade the outer corners with a touch of “buck”. The key to keeping the “no-makeup” look is to make sure to blend super well with a clean fluffy brush (I use a M.A.C. 213 brush)
Step 5: Eyeliner!
My current fave: Faces (colours 245 & 244)
For everyday, I like using a pressed powder eyeliner. It’s super easy to apply, it blends well and looks really natural. I create a thin line along my lashes using an angled eyeliner brush dipped in both the brown and black shades.
Step 6: Lashes!
My current fave: Covergirl Professional Mascara
The first time I wore this mascara, I watched Ps. I love you in theatres and cried my way through most of it. Once the movie was done, I had completely expected my makeup do be a mess, but to my surprise this mascara stayed exactly where it was supposed to (quite the feat for a non-waterproof mascara!)
Step 7: Tinted lip balm!
My current fave: Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment
For everyday, I like to wear something moisturizing on my lips, and I love that this balm gives the perfect hint of rosy colour. This lip balm comes in a larger size as well, but I prefer the mini travel size because it easily slips into a small clutch for when you are on the go.

I really love makeup when it looks natural such a beautiful look. A tinted moisturiser is a great way to get moisture and colour in one product. The naked palette I have seen many people use but never purchased. It is so pretty. I too use tinted lip balm Lucy x
