So it’s time to reveal another big project that has been waiting in the wings! Back in August I attended the Create & Cultivate conference in Chicago and I was immediately drawn to a beautiful lounge area created by the online interior design company Havenly (you can see the gorgeous space they created here)! Between conference sessions I got to chatting with some of the Havenly team and after many emails, design boards and a little online shopping, I have a gorgeous freshly decorated office!
This was my first time working with an online interior design company and I loved it. The Havenly process was super straight forward and very visual. You start by filling out this questionnaire that includes questions about everything from room dimensions & your favourite colours to what types of patterns & art you like. Then your designer creates a few mood boards for you to rate and comment on before they create the final design rendering. Once that’s ready, you just click to buy your favourite pieces from the design and Havenly orders & ships it all straight to your doorstep!
My favourite part of the design process was seeing everything come together in the room in the final design rendering! I love how my designer Jennifer was able to use the room dimensions I gave her to create a virtual space where we could see all the new decor pieces together with the furniture we already owned.
The design renderings are amazing right?!?
When we first moved into our house, I was’t really feeling inspired by our office space. We designed it to be a shared office, but because my husband uses the space the most, I didn’t want it to be overly feminine. While I love ornate, french inspired design, he likes clean lines, and Scandinavian-esque natural finishes. So the challenge was creating something we both loved, that still felt connected to the rest of the home and didn’t blow our budget!
Working with Havenly was the perfect way to get inspired again, and get some fresh ideas on how to make the room look amazing without being “too pretty”. Our designer Jennifer did a wonderful job at sourcing beautiful decor pieces that were affordable & unique.
Now without further adieu, welcome to our new home office!! 🙂
