This past weekend has made me feel oh so incredibly Canadian! On Friday, I went skating on the river trail with my lovely friend Caitlin from Vancouver, then Saturday my husband and I enjoyed brunch at Raw:Almond, an outdoor winter pop-up restaurant that has become a wonderful Manitoba tradition. Then on Sunday I walked the runway as a model for Fashion on Ice, an outdoor winter fashion show that takes place on the frozen Red River. Needless to say, it’s been a chilly weekend but so much fun!
Now, I’m not usually a huge fan of wearing all black. I have very fair skin so I’m usually drawn towards choosing soft blush tones and warm greys instead of the harsh contrast of black fabric. Maybe it was just the extreme cold this weekend, but on Saturday, I ditched my usual soft colour palette ended up layering black with more black.
The past few years, I have been obsessed with over the knee boots! They make your legs look miles longer and have the added bonus of being an extra layer to keep your legs a little warmer on chilly days. These black boots from NewChic are a wonderfully affordable way to add a pair of over the knee boots into your wardrobe!
