Transitioning from winter to spring is always an exciting time of year, especially when it comes to fashion. Of course, here in the Canadian prairies, it’s still rather chilly, so my approach to spring fashion is a gentler one. While we have had a few warmer days already, most of our spring season is cool and rainy, meaning it’s not quite time to pack up your winter layers just yet!
Of course, just because it’s chilly out doesn’t mean you can’t begin transitioning your wardrobe to spring. There are tons of small swaps you can make to freshen up your wardrobe while still making sure you don’t completely freeze when you walk out your front door!
One easy swap I like to make is to exchange my winter parka for a lightweight trench. With a cozy sweater layered underneath, you look chic while still being warm. For today’s outfit, I’m wearing a grey sweater from Shein that has a super cute fringe detail on the sleeve. I then paired it with a trench in a pretty pastel colour to add a touch of softness to the look.
Come springtime, I also switch over most of my shoes. While I no longer need the warmth of my favourite over the knee boots, I still prefer a closed toe shoe for this time of year. I usually stay away from shoes made of fabric or suede and instead opt for patent leather since it holds up so much better against the salty melting ice covering most of our sidewalks.

the Canadian prairies?! I love it and you look oh so glam!
Love the pink trench! It’s perfect for spring!
I’m in Ontario, and it’s FINALLY starting to feel more like Spring. Makes outfit posts so much easier to shoot 😛
