Every once in a while, it’s fun to switch up your regular mani for something different. But let’s be honest, most of the gorgeous nail art ideas you see online are nearly impossible to diy unless you happen to be ambidextrous and have a crazy steady hand (aka not me!). That’s why I love this easy summer statement nail look! It’s elegant, edgy and oh so easy to diy.
While you could get this look with with any nail polish of your choosing, I used two of my all-time favourite nail polish colours. A dusty lilac polish from Essie and a soft neutral blush from OPI. But the real secret to this pretty look is these inexpensive metal studs that will last you for hundreds of mani’s and only set you back $3.50 (including shipping!). Seriously, you need to start incorporating these statement makers into your weekly mani asap!
Now, are you ready for my super easy statement nails tutorial? Let’s get started!
1. Paint all nails, except ring fingers with three coats of OPI “Hopelessly in Love” blush polish.
2. Paint both ring fingers with 2 coats of Essie “Merino Cool” lilac hued polish
3. Layer one coat of Essie “Matte About You” top coat over both ring fingers.
This top coat will give your nails an amazing matte look so the metal studs will really stand out!
4. Line the centre of your nail with three square metal studs.
Add one more layer of matte topcoat then place studs on your nail while the polish is still wet. The easiest way to get the tiny metal studs from the container to your nails is to grab an orange wood cuticle stick (or a pen or pencil!) then place a tiny ball of sticky tack on the tip. It makes it so easy to pick up and place each individual stud.
5. Thats it! I told you this nail art tutorial was easy!
I hope you loved today’s nail tutorial! Do you have any secrets for DIY-ing your own mani? Leave me a comment sharing your best tips!

Super cute tutorial! I always have trouble getting studs to stay on my nails for longer than a couple days, but this is a great DIY option that is more affordable!

This is so cute! I always find I screw up my nails within minutes of painting — maybe this will inspire me to be more careful!
