Hello darlings! Today I’m excited to share with you my experience from New York Fashion Week. Day one ended up being a crazy hectic day filled with learning experiences and also a lot of fun. Make sure to read the full post to spot my major fashion week fail!
I started off day one of NYFW on the best note by meeting a group of bloggers at SoulCycle SoHo. I’ve only done a spin class once before in my life, and honestly wasn’t a fan, but SoulCycle exceeded my expectations. The loud music and cozy dark room was perfect for getting my energy going for the long day ahead.
My next stop was an impromptu appointment at Drybar. Although I hadn’t planned to get my hair done, it ended up being such a smart choice! My blow-out lasted for the entirety of my New York trip, meaning one less thing to worry about during my jam packed schedule.
Next up was my first fashion show Galtiscopio. After arriving at the wrong entrance, I power walked around the block in 4.5 inch stilettos only to arrive at the back of the line amongst hundreds of other gorgeous people who also had tickets to the show. Looking at my phone, I had arrived right on time but soon realized that meant nothing. After waiting half an hour to get in (fashion shows are notoriously late!) they made the announcement that the venue was at capacity, meaning over a hundred people who had tickets were unable to get in… including me. #FashionWeekFail
Luckily the day wasn’t a total loss, as I still had tickets to go see the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon later that afternoon. To kill time before the show, I grabbed lunch with Jackie (a fellow Winnipeg blogger!) at By Chloe then headed up to 5th Avenue to do a little shopping before the show. Then I met up with my roommates Lauren & Violetta to view a taping of the Tonight Show. The special guests for the evening were James Franco and Kendal Jenner and they played the game “Pup Quiz” where the special guests got the chance to cuddle with half a dozen puppies in exchange for answering trivia questions correctly. So cute!
After the show, I was only a few blocks away from the Saint Laurent store where I had been eyeing the gorgeous Kate monogramed fringe bag. My husband gave me the go ahead to buy it earlier that day (isn’t he great?!) So I grabbed the opportunity to pick it up while I was in the Upper East Side, then I finished off the night by heading to the Style Collective cocktail party to mingle with other bloggers also attending NYFW.
