So we might already be halfway through May, but having a baby has put me majorly behind schedule when it comes to blog content. Yes, if you hadn’t figured it out by now, I finally gave birth to my little girl! Meaning I’m currently writing this in between newborn snuggles and never-ending feeding sessions.
Anyways, April was quite the month. Here is a quick update!
My baby shower
Last month, my mom and sister threw me the most adorable baby shower. The theme was inspired by the velveteen rabbit and all the little decor details were absolutely darling. From a rabbit printed receiving blanket tossed over my chair to a stuffed bunny for our little girl to take home, I was amazed by all the effort my mom put into making the event beautiful. My sister was in charge of the food and she knocked it out of the park with a delicious menu of soup and salad for the afternoon soirée.
The entire event was so incredibly amazing and I was completely overwhelmed by all the thoughtful gifts everyone brought for our little girl. I truly feel so blessed by all the support I’ve received from my friends and family during my pregnancy.
Local Tastes: A Winnipeg restaurant opening!
Last month, I also had the chance to check out a brand new restaurant that just opened in Winnipeg. It’s called Flight Club and it is actually located inside the Winnipeg airport. After trying almost everything on the menu, I have to say that the food they serve is crazy delicious and the price point is seriously amazing for the quality of the food.
One of my favourite items on the menu is the Nasi Goereng, an Indonesian rice dish. It is seriously the perfect combination of sweet and spicy. When we traveled to Indonesia last year, I was completely surprised by the food. The flavour profiles were so unique and everything was so incredibly tasty. Indonesian food is typically not very popular in Canada (I don’t think I know of any Indonesian restaurant in my city!) so finding a restaurant that serves an Indonesian inspired dish is a total win in my books!
Oh, and by the way Flight Club also happens to validate parking. So next time you have to pick someone up at the airport you might as well enjoy a delicious dinner while you are there!
