Paris is easily one of the most beautiful cities in the world. With its iconic landmarks and stunning architecture there is no shortage of Instagram worthy photo opportunities. Here are five of the most stunning instagram worthy places to take a photo in the city of lights.
The 5 most Instagram worthy spots in Paris:
1. The Sacre-Coeur
The stunning Sacre-Coeur sits on top of a hill overlooking all of Paris. The step are often extremely crowded and you will likely have to dodge buskers, and beggars the entire way up. While most people opt for a selfie in front of the magnificent Basilica, I recommend walking around to the back side for a photo op. Even in the middle of the day, the rear of the building was almost completely void of people and looked just as magical as the front.
2. The Trocodero
You can’t visit Paris without getting an iconic shot in front of the Eiffel tower. The Trocodero is without a doubt the best place to get an unobstructed view. To get a photo without a million tourists in the backdrop, plan to arrive early at sunrise. Although, you won’t have the entire place to yourselves, it is mostly photographers and Instagramers who arrive at that hour. Generally people are quite civilized and let each other take turns getting the shot then getting out of the way for the next photographer.
3. Rue Crèmieux
This street is an absolute hidden gem of colourful charming houses. There are homes painted in every colour of the rainbow but my favourite homes were the pink ones! I literally took a hundred photos of this adorable little street and shared photos of all my favourite houses here. Do take note however that Rue Crèmieux is a residential street. Therefore you should make every effort to take your photographs quietly as to not disturb the families living in those homes. There are also a few houses with signs requesting no photographs, so make sure to respect their privacy.
4. Le Louvre
Musee du Louvre is an incredible museum housing amazing artworks (including the famous Mona Lisa). However, even if you are not the sort of person who likes visiting museums when traveling, the Louvre is still worth a visit. The grounds are accessible even without a museum ticket and the giant courtyard is grand in its own right. Centred in the courtyard is a glass pyramid that sparkles like a diamond with hues of orange and pink as it reflected the morning sky.
5. Le Petit Palais
The Petit Palais is an art gallery that houses a permanent collection that is free to view. While the museum is certainly worthy of a visit, the most insta-worthy spot at the museum is its front steps. The stairs of the Petit Palais lead up to a domed archway with an incredibly ornate golden gate surrounded by stunning sculptures.
