Up until now, I have always recommended choosing neutral tones for larger furniture and more expensive home accents. Changing accent colours through pillows and artwork is definitely the easiest and least expensive way to make a change in your home. But guys, I think I have officially changed my tune. After dreaming of owning a blush pink sofa for the longest time I finally bit the bullet and ordered a stunning pink couch for my living room. And wow, splurging on one incredible piece of accent furniture makes such a huge difference in a space.
The sofa we chose was the “Marco” custom sofa from Dufresne. We wanted a sofa that felt more modern and the boxy shape of this one was a great fit. We actually ordered everything online so the first time we sat in the sofa was when it was delivered right to my living room last week. Like most men, my husband’s priority was comfort and he was super impressed with how comfortable the sofa actually is. What I didn’t notice from the online description is that the back cushions aren’t attached to the sofa. They are actually sitting on top of the seat cushions which are super deep. I actually love this feature because if you remove the back cushions, the sofa can easily double for a day bed if you have unexpected guests staying the night!
The colour of our sofa is “powder rose” but they actually have quite a few pink colours to choose from (as you can see from my Instagram post here!) . They also have plenty of pretty neutral fabrics if you aren’t ready to commit to such a bold colour for your space. I personally like the “alicia grey” as a gorgeous neutral option that isn’t pink.
Now, if you are a mom, you might be thinking I’m crazy for choosing a sofa this light of a colour. Let’s be honest, kids can make some big messes! But for a light colour I’m surprised how well this blush pink fabric hides stains. As a family with a 1 year old and a dog, I knew some mishaps were bound to happen but I never imagined I’d be googling how to clean a sofa three days after the sofa arrived. Fortunately, I can say that the sofa cushions held up amazingly well to my cleaning efforts. I ended up tossing the cushion covers in my washing machine on cold then air dried them in my dryer and they honestly look as good as new. How’s that for a #momlife win?

Your home is an absolute DREAM. It’s the kind of space I would consider major inspo if I saw it on Pinterest. Can I just have you decorate for me? Blush has always seemed like a neutral to me, and it’s the main color in my office. I’d love a couch like this in my space!
