It’s officially November and to be honest I kind of love this time of year. Nestled between Halloween and Christmas, everything seems to slow down a little bit as people start preparing for the holidays. Unlike in the United States, we celebrate Thanksgiving in October. This leaves November to be a quiet month for relaxing at home and enjoying the last little bit of crisp fall air before blizzard season hits in full force. Here’s a little update about what I have up this November.
Reading // This month I started reading “Becoming” by Michelle Obama. I was hoping the book might have some actionable insights but it reads more like a biography of her life. While I found the book quite interesting, I also found it very unrelatable. However, it’s worth a read if you are curious about what being a first lady is like.
Pinning // I recently created a Pinterest board called “All the Fall Things” and I have been feeling so inspired. I have never been one to decorate my home specifically for fall (I’ll usually just change up my accent colours and a few decor pieces like I did here) but I suddenly have the urge to go buy a hundred pumpkins and scatter them around my house. Other things I’m currently inspired by are earthy tones like warm camel colours. Here are a few Pinterest images inspiring me this month:
Planning // Right now I’m getting all my ducks in a row as I prepare to go back to work as a flight attendant next month. At the same time, my daughter Emilia is starting Montessori classes. Currently on the to do list is labeling all her clothes (I’m thinking of getting these cute custom labels from Etsy) and meal planning what exactly to put in her little lunch kit.
Decorating // I’m defiantly planning to be an early bird again this year and start my Christmas decorating this month. With snow already covering the ground here in Winnipeg, Canada setting up my snow flocked Christmas tree just feels right!
Shopping // This past month most of my shopping has been replacing classic wardrobe staples. I’ve added a few new white sweaters to my collection including this insanely soft and fluffy eyelash sweater from H&M and this perfect long cardigan from RW&CO. Other new pieces in my closet include this dusty lavender hued fedora hat and these gorgeous fur booties from Cougar. Lastly, my husband bought me this amazing wicker backpack that I’m so excited to bring along on this year’s winter vacation!
What does your November look like? Are you reading, planning or shopping for anything exciting this month? Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts!

I didn’t know that you guys celebrate Thanksgiving on October! I agree with you. I love November when everything slows down a bit. If it’s snowing the Christmas tree is a must. I’m starting the Christmas decoration early this year as well.
