Does anyone else feel like May has flown by so quickly this year? I can hardly believe it is almost summer (which happens to be my favourite season!). Lately, I have been focusing on getting my garden planted so that hopefully in the next month or two it will become a haven of beautiful flowers. Here’s a quick snapshot of everything else I have been up to this month.
Reading // I’ve read more books in this past month than I have read all year. Most of that is due to the free trial of Scribd where I have been listening to audio books every evening. (You can try a 60 day free trial here!) So far I’ve crossed off my list the Montessori toddler,Unf*ck Yourself and the Alchemist. Out of the three I enjoyed the Montessori Toddler the best, but that is probably because I live with a 2-year old and she currently pretty much rules my life.
Working out // Lately my favourite workouts have been from Whitney Simmons Youtube channel. Most of her latest workouts are short enough that I can manage to squeeze into my schedule and require no equipment. I also just signed up for a free trial of Alo Moves and have so far enjoyed the both of the online yoga classes I tried.
Traveling // If you haven’t guessed our travel plans for this year have been completely turned upside down. We had planned to travel to Alberta in July to experience the Calgary Stampede then head up to Banff but we’ve decided to push that trip to 2021 for the time being. Meanwhile our spring trip to Morocco has been tentatively pushed to November. We won’t be buying tickets until much much closer to fall but I’m hoping Covid-19 will have slowed down enough to allow borders to reopen by that time.
Eating // My mom just bought me the “Fraiche Food, Full Hearts” book by Jillian Harris and it is filled with so many beautiful recipes. On this week’s menu is the spanakopita salmon and I am ridiculously excited to try it (it looks soooo good in the photos!). Lately my family has also been loving stir fry mixed with coconut rice and drizzled with ranch sauce. Ranch sauce on stir-fry might sound a bit weird but the creamy salty sauce combined with sweet teriyaki sauce is divine.
Shopping // While everyone else seems to be snatching up all the cute loungewear I have my eye on comfortable summer dresses. I recently purchased this gorgeous summer dress from Plum Pretty Sugar and it has me so excited to wear lounging outside on warm summer nights. Right now, Plum Pretty Sugar has tons of its gorgeous floral print dresses on sale, so I thought I would link a few of my favourites below that are all on sale for under $50. So pretty right?!?
Pinning // Lately I have been pinning everything floral along with inspiring self-care images and cute loungewear. DIY has also been on my mind since I have seen so many cute hoop embroidery designs on Pinterest lately. I can’t wait to try my hand at embroidery but wooden hoops have been sold out on Amazon and online craft stores since quarantine started so I will have to wait to give it a try.
